George Osborne said that those who believed in free markets wanted them regulated in an interview with Evan Davis on Today radio 4, Monday, 25 November 2013.He repeated that it was nonsense to think otherwise. He went on to say that the free market was not laissez faire. But it clearly is such. He clearly prefers political regulation.

He referred to Adam Smith and John Locke but those authors would not say they wanted a free market. Complete free trade does mean no state at all. Osborne needs to realise that he does not want a free market but rather, like Lenin and Hitler, he favours crass politics instead
